Seasons of the Soul

We're women. We have good days, we have bad. Sometimes it may seem that the bad will never come full circle to good again. If you're going through a difficult time, remember that God has a plan and if we're faithful to Him, He will be faithful to us. How can we stay faithful to Him?
  1. Be committed to reading His Word.
  2. Attend church and small groups on a regular basis.
  3. Surround yourself with godly friends.
  4. Help someone else whose need is greater than yours.
  5. Whether your problem seems small or impossible, there's nothing to be ashamed of, so DON'T be afraid to ask for help.

It may seem like a hopeless situation now, but Romans 8:28 reminds us, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them". Following is a poem I wrote after going through a difficult time and a season of depression.

Seasons of the Soul
Color blooms
A fresh, new start
Excitement lingers strong
New life carries hope and promise
My heart bursts out in song

The sun is hot and burns the sky
The heat now takes its toll
A thirst for something deep and real
Overwhelms my soul

Then, as the rain begins to blow
And leaves fall to the ground
My hope of new beginnings fades
The sense of loss, profound

The frigid winds blow fierce and strong
Words cut icy, deep
Depression sinks into my heart
My withered dreams now sleep

But I'm reminded of His promise
To everything a season
This too, will pass
New Spring will bloom
For all He has a reason
